This is indeed a coincidence as his younger brother, also Robert served in the King's Royal Rifle Regiment so, your earlier information has indeed helped me further with a possible link to William.

I shall definitely take a trip to the RDG Museum next time I visit York. So lovely to know that the Staff are friendly and helpful plus, I really am looking forward to viewing their Military Collection too.
