Hello Mike,
Just had a look on Ancestry on the medal rolls without sucess.
Looked at variations too, I take it you do not have the number or Regiment.

Thanks Paul......

Here is the full listing of a QSA that I have picked up.....

BIRT, N. H.

REG. NO.: NIL
RANK: REVEREND

REGT: ARMY CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT
BARS: CAPE COLONY, ORANGE FREE STATE, TRANSVAAL, SOUTH AFRICA 1901

Now the thing is it has been re-named in an officers engraved style.....

I was thinking that he may have served in a unit in South Africa and due to seeing the horrors of war decided to become a minister....

Hi Mike
Found him on the Ancestry roll under H.N.Birt
Firstly under YMCA then the Chaplains roll.
Clasps confirmed as C.C O.F.S. Transvaal and 1901
On one roll it states "one day too late for Transvaal clasp" but it is confirmed on another roll.
Very nice medal.

Thanks Again Paul.....

The thing was that the old naming on the medal has been cruedly removed and the new name put on.....

That is why I was a little conserned about it.....

I am surprised that he is listed under YMCA would never have thought of looking there.....

I wonder if the medal was named YMCA and he removed it and had rev. N. H. Birt put on.......

Does anyone else have one named to YMCA??????

Thanks again.....

Will be in UK in a few days..... Owe you a Pint.....
