Thank you for another outstanding contribution to this forum. I have the greatest admiration for your diligence and persistence in what must often be difficult and unrewarding research. I hope that the Cape Medal Group will bring your work to the attention of the Indian Ambassador while he is in Cape Town and that will result in an official commendation from the Indian Government.

Regards
Brett

Hammerman Kuban previously severed in the 27th Bombay Infantry and the 40th Parthans before enlisting in the Supply & Transport Corps, Punjab Command, Sirhind District (Umballa). He served in PMB and stayed on in Natal before joining the Natal Police.

I would like to find more of these papers and I will be in KZN to look through the Natal Police Archives next month. Has anyone any experience or have seen papers like this?

Such papers must be exceptionally rare and the fact that you can post them on an Internet forum is further testament to your diligent research. Thank you for sharing with us.

I have had a special interest in the Natal Police for many years, but the Discharge Certificate is new to me.

David,

Many thanks for sharing those papers. I have never seen these before so it is wonderful to know what can be found.

Best wishes
