I submitted some bids this morning using the CC website, but I haven't had an acknowledgement email, so now I am starting to feel a bit nervous! Did anyone else use the website to leave bids? Did you get an acknowledgement?

I got no acknowledgement via email, but the CC online order form intimated that I had made successful bids
Feeling nervous myself, I emailed directly to CC and got replied from Sharon and Nicole that my bids were showing as accepted. Phew! The relief was palpable!!
So, I would hope you were all ok.

Pleased to see some of my bids were successful and just received a nice email from Sharon Jaffe - all's well with the world today!

I ended up spending the grand sum of $170 on 2x SA WW2 lots that caught my eye (lot 270 & 311).

Very happy with both wins; especially since I don’t have too much explaining to do just before Christmas. I’m running out of excuses :cheer:

In the pre-auction research I fancied lot 88; Capt HA Reid of the C in C bodyguard.

He was the architect to the Cape Town City Hall and father to a VC winner.

I put in what I thought was a good bid but was out by quite a margin.

Good work to whoever picked it up.

Sturgy,
At least I know it wasn't you that outbid me on the QSA to Captain Reid of the C-I-C Bodyguard! I thought I'd gone in strongly enough, but fell short by a measly 100 odd Rand!
I do collect to the regiment, and this was a cracking medal with a great back story.
Hopefully, a fellow forummer picked it up.

But disappointment doesn't last long with this interest of ours. What I didn't spend at CC went to another couple of auctions and I picked up a 6 clasp QSA to a :sleeping tiger' and a couple to Lovat's Scouts. But more about those in the New Year!

Hope all bidders had better luck than me.

Cheers Steve.
