I enjoyed reading about these with my morning cup of tea. Thank you for posting the information and excellent pictures.

I would agree that the ABO is an under-researched medal. Can you estimate how much interest there is in ABOs in the decendents of the men who earned them?

Difficult question.

I have only ever met 2 decendants of ABO's who still have them. I might be lucky enough to acquire one of these, they are family members of my wife and there is no one else in the family who care about medals/militaria etc. Quite a nice ABO as it also comes with a wound ribbon.

I only have other, to a Boer who was on Commando and fought at Magersfontein/Kimberley. Not artillery but needed it after acquiring a DOK medal and thought it would be nice to have one to the opposition.
