Hello Neil,
I am a lttle confused, what is the medal you have bought and as this man served beyond 1923 his service records would not normally be available.

This would suggest that he is , possibly, one of the very few to have received either Iraq 19/20 or even NW Persia. Or so the gent I bought this off suggested this.
Any ideas how I could find this out?

Okay, so with a George V1 obverse, well, I looked at the available folios in ADM171/62 which contains both the North West Persia and Iraq clasps and he is not shown there, so I hope that answers your original question, given there may be errors and omissions, but, there is a limit to what clasp it could be because of his span of service.
I am still going to say, my money would be on another clasp, perhaps Palestine 1936-39, but, it should have a clasp and as stated, it is part of a group.
