The photo is captioned "on coffee break near Swinburn with the Harrismith Volunteer Light Horse" - Davie is the one on haunches, second from the left.

British War and Victory Medals (Capt. P.S. Tibbs)

Described as: Percy Sidney Tibbs served in the Second Anglo-Boer War with the Harrismith Volunteer Light Horse (rolls confirm), and later served in the Great War with the Army Ordnance Department and the Royal Army Ordnance Corps. His Great War entitlement is also confirmed on the medal rolls – his M.I.C. giving an address at Livingstone, Rhodesia.

There is a Lt G Cowan on the roll (WO100/281p163), however J Cowan is listed as a Trooper.
