Hart's dilemma caused a lot of noise & chatter in the British press when Buller was giving evidence to the post war enquiry in 1903. It seemed to resurface in 1908 with these two letters:

I will see if I can find the original one that appeared in the Army & Navy Gazette of 5 December 1908 but it did not appear in my search last night.

The only reference I can find to Colonel Barrington & Colenso in the Army & Navy Gazette of 5 December 1908 is this untitled paragraph set amongst numerous unrelated paragraphs on a variety of topics.
