Some great pics there! I particularly liked the Naval ML gun with padded wheels for night movement. Also interesting to see Eloff's "loot". Mauser rifles (ID's by the light reflecting off the magazine floor-plates) on the left, Martini's. etc, in the middle and looks like Mauser carbines (or carbines, anyway) on the right. Would love to have classified them!

This is a digitised version of the map of the siege of Mafeking that accompanies the original publication of Maurice's History. The map shows all the defences that were created throughout the siege.

To help identify the location of the places mentioned in the Mafeking accounts, a grid has been overlaid. This uses letters A - F on the top and 1 to 6 down the left. Following the map is an alphabetical listing of all the places mentioned in the map and, after that, a listing by grid location.

March’, it was intended that the notes be issued as single items but this never occurred as the name of the issuing officer was misspelled as March when it should have been Marsh, about uncirculated to uncirculated
