The Scottish Rifles glengarry badge and the British case shot came off the Kop in 1977.

I am trying to find out the origin of this sketch by the war artist, Rene Bull, of Spion Kop. I believe it's in the Black and White Budget, but only at low resolution... would anyone know where I can find a better version of it?
Many thanks
Rob

All who have read about Spion Kop will know that the summit was shrouded in dense mist till about 8 am. This is quite frequent in the summer, and I attach a photo which was taken from the spot where Renee Bull did the sketch earlier in this thread.

Hi Rob...I had a play with the image and ran it through photoshop....best I could do with the original.
You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.
Best regards,

Rob,

There is a version of that image in Forbes' 19th Century battles book. I have emailed you a high resolution copy.

Here is a version that has also been through Photoshop to try to improve it.

At the top of the hill the swirls show the exploding of the Boer Shells. To the left are 'our shrapnel bursting over the Boer trenches'. Snaking from middle right to centre bottom are the stretcher bearers, meeting at the middle bottom the ambulance wagons. Top left is the position captured by the KRRC and shelled by our artillery.
