Having posted this entry all that time ago, I recently learned that my late Great Uncle’s medals were complete and actioned in Exeter (BHL) in February 2020. I have tried to reach out to the successful bidder (via the auction house), posted my interest in various places, and even been to the Guards Museum at Wellington Barracks to try and locate them. Can’t say it’s been time wasted as I’ve met some interesting people and found some great sources of information (like this one) - I’ve also established where the medals aren’t. So, please forgive me if I use this platform to try to reach the collector and ask that they allow me to purchase them back into the family.
