Indeed on the name. It seems to change spelling on records regularly, likely depending on interpretation of who is generating the record.

I actually have an document from 2 decades later with his siugnature on it. And I compared to the signature on the service record. Bear in mind two decades difference, they are uncannily similar and both use the same spelling on surname. See in the attachment I have uploaded.

We may have our man

Now I absolutely need to find his full service record, deployments, activities etc.

He seems to have been quite a hothead - there are a lot of charges of striking officers???
