Thomas is listed in this unit. I wonder would there be any other records for this unit, and if so where ?
Would there be a WO file on him?

Thanks

Good evening
3146 Trooper Tuohy appears to have served in Kitchener's Horse from the 18th of January 1900 after enlisting at Capetown, until the 17th of December 1900 before "returning" to the Duke of Edinburgh's Volunteer Rifles two days later
Any surviving attestation and discharge papers for his time in Kitchener's Horse will be found at the National Archives Kew London in WO126.
There is quite a lot going on with this fellow, the medal roll makes for interesting reading too, but, I can only resume with him tomorrow, so I will bid you good night for now.
Regards Frank

I'm not sure if a reply on an i-phone gets to you, so thank you. I look forward to hearing from you.
If we are discussing the same man he served without distinction in the 77th regt (no.930) from 1876 to 1888. I have his records from the archives, if you are interested. He had 3 brothers also in the army and it was from one of their files that he was recorded as serving in Kitcheners Light Horse.

Hello Garry,
In WO100/256 he is shown on page 76 as Trooper M Touhy, moreover, because of the note on that, he appears to have served in both the Johannesburg Mounted Rifles as number 2074 and Scott's Railway Guards as number 463, his service with this latter appears to have been from the 20th of February 1901 to the 14th of September 1901.
Again, you would need to consult WO126 at Kew.

Hello Garry

He also had a spell in the Duke Of Edinburgh's Own Vol Rifles (no. 2058) and earned a KSA with the Johannesburg MR.

Did his brothers also serve in this war?
