Hi Dave...Wow! Thank you so much! I believe somewhere along the line my Dad was told he was a 'bat man' in the Boer war? and that he did fight in WW1...but it may have been mixed up info.. He did live to a good age and Dad remembers him being very pedantic with his dress and shoes always polished. I am Kim Evelyn...named after my beautiful Nana Dot! On my Dad's father's side he had an uncle Arthur Farrrar who was wounded in WW1. Not sure of his date of birth but it was in NZ army...he survived the Ralph mine disaster in Huntly in 1914 then enlisted.
