I am confident, beyond reasonable doubt, that Christoper Shorrock is the man you seek, he was from Darwen, he was captured at Stormberg, he was in the East Lancashire Regiment, he was a qualified Mounted Infantryman and he had served in the Army for six years at the point in time his letter was published, WO97 shows his next of kin as his brothers Johnathan and William as well as three sisters, Elizabeth, Jane and Betsy at number 31 Radford Street Darwen.
He was discharged completely upon the 8th of January 1906.
