This is not something often seen as it is an impossible complete entitlement. The QSA is being sold by DNW next week. The recipient 2386 Pte. F. McCabe, S. Lanc. Regt. is additionally entitled to OFS, Tr, RoL and LN

This 'impossible single entitlement' has come up before and I will try to find the thread later. It concerns the issue error made in respect of Imperial Light Horse casualties at the Battle of Colenso, who were issued their QSA's early, apparently following the intervention of Winston Churchill on behalf of one of their number (Tpr Fred A Freshney, ILH). Justin subsequently located a memorial to Freshney and I will look for that thread as well.

Finding a genuine (although issued in error) single clasp 'Tugela Heights' QSA is on my long, and never diminishing, wish list.

Brett

I have this one Brett if you are ever interested in a swap.

George Charles Robert Doble

Bearer, Natal Volunteer Ambulance Corp

- Queen's South Africa Medal with clasp Relief Of Ladysmith

He was one of only 2 who were Killed in Action from the NVAC on 20 January 1900 - you'll know how close to Spioenkop that was :)

Regards

Rory

I remember when you acquired Doble's medal. It is one of many in your collection that reflects a little bit of Natal's military history, so I will think about what might tempt you to part with it.

I was able to give Bill evidence of a Single Clasp "Laings Nek" to the Natal Volunteer Veterinary Corps. I think most of evidence has come through his knowledge of the units and what came over his desk. He did collect these items for many years.

Looking for Salutries, Salootries and Veterinary Duffadars.
I collect primarily QSAs to Indian Recipients.
