George Mansel, Commissioner, Zululand Police, 1903-06; served during the Langalibele's Rebellion 1873; served as Sub-Inspector and Inspector, 1879; Boer War 1880; Assistant Commissioner, Natal Police 1897; raised and commanded the Reserve Territory Carabininiers 1883-87 when the force was changed to the Zululand Police.

QSA (1) Natal (2903 Pte. H. Hunter, 2: E. Surrey Regt.)

H. G. Hunter served with the 2nd Battalion East Surrey Regiment in South Africa, and was killed in action in his Regiment’s very first engagement at Willow Grange, Natal, on 23 November 1899, and as such was the regiment’s first casualty of the War.
