I am delighted to have come across this photograph of the Anglo-Boer War medal for Albert George Coulson. I am compiling a family history for my Coulson family and AG Coulson was my great-uncle, the brother of my great-grandfather, Exton Aubrey Coulson who also served in the war (about which I can find absolutely nothing other than a note in my great grandfather's (x2) memoir). I have broad information on "Archie's" capture at Kafferskraal and internment in India at Ahmednagar concentration camp in India and I am so pleased to be able to include this photograph of his medal in my (very informal) history. I knew that he was involved in the siege of Mafeking but not about Magersfontein and Frederickstad.
May I ask how it is that you know that this particular medal is Albert George Coulson's medal - please forgive me for what may seem like a very stupid question but I'm completely unversed in the matters of war and medals and would be very interested to know how you have come across this medal or the photograph of the medal. With my thanks, in anticipation.
