Hello, hope you are well. I would really love to know about the above chap. He was my Great Great Oupa Georg Heinrich Portwig's son. Georg Heinrich Portwig was a member of the Cape Police. I wonder what the implication were to his family, when his son was declared a Cape Rebel. Jacobs's was sent to Ceylon, by the way. The was a family story that Georg Heinrich and family were in the concentration camps, I think in Vryburg. I have the record of 2 of his daughters who died their from the website , www2.lib.uct.ac.za/mss/bccd/Persons/P/192/0/ , they are Cla a and Louisa Potwig. I am trying to find out if I have the right family as those names are not exactly the same. Their ages, age differences match and the one girl was Louise instead of Louisa. Sorry this is becoming a bit long. Basically do you know or know where I can find out more about, Jacobs's Portwig, Georg Heinrich Portwig (employed as an interpreter in the Vryburg concentration camp, family story only!).
