He took part in the operations in Chitral with the Relief Force in 1895 (medal with clasp); the operations on the NW frontier of India in 1897-8, with the Malakand Field Force (clasp), and the Boer War in 1899-02, in which he was severely wounded (despatches, KSA with two clasps and brevet of Major) He was promoted Lieutenant Colonel in 1906 in recognition of his services during the Munshi Expedition. | (Buffs) East Kent Regiment |
