Cornwall | William Lundie | | Trooper | BSACM Mashonaland 1890 (1) Rhodesia 1896. 1896: Capt. Salisbury FF. Son of Moses Cornwall, Sheriff of Griqualand West. He attested for the British South Africa Company Police on 1 April 1890, as Trooper No. 486, and served in 'B' Troop during the 1890 operations. In the early months of 1891 he set up as a broker in Fort Salisbury in partnership with two former comrades, P. W. Campbell (No. 483) and E. G. Seward (No. 495Cornwall served as a Captain in the Salisbury Field Force in the Mashona Rebellion of 1896, and was in command of a patrol in the Chishawasha area from 22nd to 28th of July. This patrol was engaged in heavy fighting in broken country but successfully stormed Ruoko's kraal, having three men wounded. Many rebels were killed and Cornwall brought in 100 bags of grain.
