Gloster | William | | Captain | He was killed in action at Stabbert's Nek, July 23rd, 1900. He was born April 1863, entered the Royal Irish Regiment from the 4th Brigade South Irish Division, Royal Artillery in May 1885, being promoted Captain February 1892. He served in the Hazara expedition of 1888 with the 2nd Battalion Royal Irish Regiment, including the engagement at Kotkai, being mentioned in despatches and receiving the medal with clasp. He proceeded to South Africa with his battalion in December 1899, and served throughout the war up to his death.
