Minniece | James MCh | | Major | He died of enteric at Ladysmith, March 17th, 1900. He was born in May 1859, entered the Royal Army Medical Corps as Captain February 1887, and was promoted Major February 1899. Major Minniece, who had been serving in the Punjab, went to South Africa with the Indian Contingent in September 1899, and was attached to the 5th Dragoon Guards.

Minnik | J H | | | Landdrost at Boksburg, Transvaal, until he joined the Boers on the outbreak of the War in 1899, remaining in the field until captured by Colenbrander's Scouts in April, 1901. He then spent fifteen months as a prisoner of war in India. Until peace was signed Mr Munnik was an irreconcilable, but he then determined to accept the inevitable and became a loyal British subject. Mr Munnik occupied his leisure time as a prisoner in writing a romance of the Boer War, entitled Major Greville, VC, DSO. | Boer Forces |
