At Adelong Crossing on Wednesday afternoon Trooper William LUFF was presented by Lieut. Griffin, on behalf of the recipient's many friends and admirers, with a handsome gold medal, in testimony to his grit and gallant behaviour as a man and a soldier whilst in South Africa. About 50 residents of the Crossing, and several Gundagai well-wishers, were present. In acknowledging the compliment paid him, Trooper LUFF hoped he would wear the medal honourably.
