WELCOMES HOME.

AVON PLAINS. – A welcome home was tendered to Private W.A. KEMMIS, of the Fifth Contingent, on Friday, at the Banyena Mechanics’ Institute. He was presented with a gold albert and medal.

ST. ARNAUD. – Trooper J. WALTON, of Yeungroon, has been entertained at a welcome social, and presented with a gold chain and locket. Private W.A. KENNIES [sic], of Avon Plains, has been similarly honored. Sergeant-Major KNIGHTS, of the Fifth Contingent, who recently returned from South Africa, has been entertained at a welcome social by Gre Gre village residents, and also presented with a gold locket, suitably inscribed.
