A VOLUNTEER’S WELCOME HOME. – Private James BRADY, of G (Kinross) Company, 7th Volunteers Battalion Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, who returned here on Saturday after fully a year’s active service in South Africa, was entertained by a number of his friends on Monday night to supper in the house of Mr Andrew Watson, Bridgend, here. There were a good number present, including several men who had recently returned from the front. During the course of the evening, Colour-Sergeant-Instructor Moffat, of the local Volunteer corps, in the name of a large number of subscribers, presented Private BRADY with a handsome silver albert chain and appendage, a set of studs and sleeve links, along with several other useful articles. Private BRADY suitably replied, thanking them heartily for their kindness. A very pleasant evening was spent with songs and dancing.
