BALAKLAVA, June 27.

A social was held in the institute hall on Wednesday evening to welcome home Tpr. James MULLINS, of the Bushmen's contingent. There was a large attendance, including Col. Castine, who, on behalf of the residents, presented Tpr. MULLINS with a pretty gold medal suitably inscribed. Tpr. FOORD was also present, and was presented with an illuminated address and a gold medal from his brethren of the Black Watch Lodge, U.A.O.D. The proceedings were enlivened by a number of songs and recitations.

BALAKLAVA, June 27.

On Wednesday evening a smoke social was held in the Balaklava Institute to welcome home Troopers J. MULLINS and J. FORD, of the Bushmen’s Contingent, who have just returned from South Africa. Mr W.T.S. Harris presided, and Colonel J.W. Castine, M.H.A., presented Trooper MULLINS with a gold medal, suitably inscribed, from the public of Balaklava, and Trooper FORD with a gold medal and illuminated address from his brother Druids of Black Watch Lodge. The proceedings were enlivened by songs and recitations.
