Presentation at Crook.

An interesting ceremony took place in the Wesleyan Schoolroom at Crook on Wednesday evening, the occasion being the presentation to Private J.G. ALLISTON, late of the 2nd Coldstreams, of a handsome gold lever watch, albert, medal, and silver-mounted walking-stick. The gift, which is an appreciation of the recipient’s service at the front, was subscribed for by the inhabitants of Crook and the district. There was a good company, Mr B. Elliott occupying the chair. Mr W. Smith made the presentation. During the evening choruses were rendered by the Male Voice Choir and also by Mr Horrad’s party.
