DUNOLLY.

Intense loyalty and enthusiasm prevailed on Wednesday evening as the train arrived, having on board Private D.A. KASHOW, who left with the First Contingent for South Africa. An immense crowd gathered at the railway station to extend a welcome home to the soldier, and the town band played selections. A procession was formed, and Private KASHOW was seated on the fire brigade ladder carriage, and escorted by the local Rangers and Church Lads' Brigade to the town hall, which was filled to overflowing. Addresses of welcome were given by the major (Cr. W.H. Langler), Crs. Morris, Desmond and Mr A. Williamson, and Private KASHOW suitably responded. A social was tendered to the returned soldier on Friday evening. Among those present were Mr Duggan, Minister of Lands. The mayor, Cr. Langler, on behalf of the townspeople, presented Private KASHOW with a purse of sovereigns, and the members of the fire brigade made him a gift of a gold medal.
