ELLERSLIE. – A welcome home social was tendered to Private C. RANKIN on Wednesday evening last. The chairman, Mr A.R. Hortle, presented him with a handsome gold medal from his numerous friends in the town and district. Private RANKIN expressed his gratitude, and recounted some of his South African experiences.
