Presentation to Returned Yeomen.
At the Deckham Hotel, Gateshead, on Friday night, Corporal Fred. WILKINSON and Trooper Edward DIXON, who recently returned from South Africa, after 18 months’ service with the Northumberland and Durham Imperial Yeomanry, were each presented with a suitably inscribed gold medal, and a handsome meerschaum pipe. The gifts were from a few friends of the two men, as a mark of appreciation of their gallant services. Mr Wm. McKay occupied the chair. The presentation was made by Mr G. Wilkinson.
