Mr Mackillop, Blairgie, and Mr Gilbert, Gallovie, as representing the people of Laggan, presented Lance-Sergeant CAMERON with a gold chain, bearing a suitable inscription, and a purse of sovereigns. Mr Mackillop, in making the presentation, said the people of Laggan were proud of the patriotic way Sergeant CAMERON was going to the front. They knew if Sergt. CAMERON ever got old Kruger in his clutches he would give him a good squeeze – (laughter and applause).
