MIRFIELD.

PRESENTATION.

At the Conservative Club, on Tuesday evening, Sergt.-Inst. BOND was presented with a gold albert and medal, which had been subscribed for by the members of the club, in recognition of his conduct in volunteering and serving with the forces in South Africa. The medal bore the inscription: – “Presented to Sergeant-Instructor K.A. Bond on his return from South Africa by a few fellow-members of the Mirfield Conservative Club. July 16th 1901”. Sergt. BOND volunteered for service with the 2nd V.B. Duke of Wellington’s West Riding Regiment, which returned home some months ago. At Tuesday’s gathering Mr E.B. Wilson presided, and in appropriate terms made the presentation, speaking in high terms of Sergt. BOND’s conduct, and expressing pleasure at his safe return. Sergt. BOND suitably acknowledged the gift.
