Corporal MORRIS, who returned with the last contingent from the South African war, was welcomed home by the residents of Moonambel in the State school, and presented with a valuable double gold Albert and gold locket, inscribed.

HOME FROM THE WAR.

AVOCA.

Corporal MORRIS, of Moonambel, who recently returned from the war, was entertained by the residents of Moonambel in the state school, and presented with a double gold albert and gold locket, inscribed. The presentation was made by the president of the shire of Avoca, Mr James Fitzgerald, and the Rev. W. Harris and Mr James Brown also spoke. Mrs Peacock and Mr J.W. Bannister and Rev. W. Harris contributed songs. Corporal MORRIS has consented to deliver an address to the Avoca branch of the Australian Natives' Association on "Incidents of the War".
