PRESENTATION.

Mr H.M. HOLT, son of Mr H.W.L. Holt, stationmaster at Waratah, who is now a sworn member of the Bushmen's Contingent, paid a hurried visit home last weekend, and received a hearty welcome from his parents, relatives, and friends. The young soldier is hearty and well and eager to be off to the war. He is an employee in the Government engineering shops in Newcastle, and on Monday morning his shop mates, in saying good-bye, showed their esteem and friendly feeling by presenting him with a handsome gold medal and gold ring, both suitably inscribed. Later in the day his old schoolmates in the town presented him with a fine pair of field glasses as a token of their esteem, which clearly shows that young HOLT is a general favourite. He left for Sydney the same evening amid showers of good wishes for his success at the front.
