PRESENTATION TO MR HERBERT S. PULLAR.
MR HERBERT PULLAR has been the recipient of a very gratifying expression of esteem on the part of the members of Kinnoull Tennis Club, of which he is President. They have presented him with a regulation military compass with leather guard, and attached to the latter is a small gold charm of very pretty appropriate design, bearing the following inscription –
To SERGEANT HERBERT S. PULLAR (6th Imperial Yeomanry), From the Members of Kinnoull Tennis Club, On his departure for South Africa on active service. Jan. 1900.
This interesting souvenir was forwarded to Mr Pullar on Friday last by the Secretary of the club (there being no opportunity for a formal presentation) with the following letter –
Perth, 1st February, 1900.
DEAR MR PULLAR – On behalf of the Kinnoull Tennis Club, I have now great pleasure in handing you [a] compass and commemorative medallion as a small token of respect and esteem, and trust that the former may prove useful to you. I need hardly express how proud we all are of having one of our number bound for the seat of war at the present time. Although we shall certainly miss you, we must not grudge your services to our Queen and country. With best wishes of all here for a safe, speedy, and victorious return, I remain. Yours faithfully,
For Kinnoull Lawn Tennis Club,
(signed) SAMUEL A. FORBES, Hon. Secretary.
