"The [New South Wales] Mounted Rifles who have returned by the Orient are to have a great reception, and each man will be presented with a gold medal" (Brisbane Telegraph, 07/01/1901).
It was widely reported that all members of the contingent would receive gold medals. However, a medal produced in such numbers would be seen as frequently as the Toronto medal. As none are known to have surfaced, it seems unlikely that this presentation was ever made.
