A PRESENTATION.

The Subiaco Lodge, No. 3,758, G.U.O.O.F., held a social in Victoria Hall last evening, by way of a send-off to Bro. A. HOLLIS, who is leaving the colony with the W.A. Mounted Infantry, in which he has enlisted. The Mayor, Mr Austin Bastow, presided, and there was a very large gathering of the brethren in regalia and their friends, Victoria Hall, in which the function was held, being crowded with ladies and gentlemen. The programme included songs by Mrs Laird, Messrs McCarthy, W. Launder, A. Watson, Appleton, a duet by the Misses Hill, and a recitation by Mr A.G. Stach, interspersed with dances, in which a large number of those present took part. During an interval the Mayor, on behalf of the brethren of the lodges, presented Bro. HOLLIS with a handsome gold medal, which was suitably acknowledged by its recipient. Cheers were then given for Bro. HOLLIS and the contingent, and as he was leaving the hall he was raised upon the shoulders of a number of the brethren, amid a perfect storm of cheers and the singing of "Auld Lang Syne". The social was in every way a success, and, despite the warmth of the temperature, was greatly enjoyed by all.
