THIS PRESENTATION PROBABLY DID NOT HAPPEN, AS THE ULVERSTON MEN RECEIVED SILVER WATCHES
Gold medals, "bearing the regimental arms", to:
returning Ulverston volunteers
"It was agreed that gold medals be presented to the returning Volunteers at a cost not exceeding £3". It was decided to write to "the reception committees of Lancaster and Barrow, suggesting that if they intended to present medals to members of the company from those towns, uniform medals bearing the regimental arms and of some other approved design, should be adopted".
Presumably this idea was abandoned, as silver watches were presented instead. Barrow also opted for watches.
