PRESENTATION TO A WALKER FUSILIER.

Last night, at the Rifleman’s Arms, Low Walker, s smoking concert was held to present Private Donald CAMERON, who has lately returned from South Africa, with the Service Company of the 2nd V.B.N.F., Walker, with a handsome gold albert and medal kindly subscribed by his fellow workmen at the yard of Messrs Armstrong, Whitworth & Co., Ltd., Walker. There was a good attendance, the chair being occupied by Mr Wm. Prudham. Quartermaster Sergeant A. Torcher, in making the presentation, spoke in glowing terms of the work done by the Walker Volunteer Service Company, and trusted Private CAMERON would be spared long life to wear the present as a token of the respect and esteem in which he was held. The recipient responded in a suitable manner, and the rest of the evening was devoted to harmony, in which the following took part: – Colour-Sergeant T. Smith, 2nd V.B.N.F.; Sergeant Sexton, Imperial Yeomanry; Messrs G. Kelvin, M. Carr, J. Haugh, L. Barron, J. Virtue, and John Harle.
