Town Guards

The Badge of Gallantry . Awarded to members of the South African Constabulary by Baden Powell. A Sleeve badge A/ Brown (?) embroidered on Khaki cloth B/ Bullion embroidered on Green cloth C/ A shield shaped brass (gilt?) plate with point to the top. Two horizontal lugs. Face covered with green cloth. Border mounted with gilt border. Centre bearing a gilt oval spray set on a rectangular scroll bearing the word GALLANTRY. No device to centre of spray, all open over the green cloth. My award was made to Sgt Major Walter Mansel Balfour Ogilvy.
