Johannesburg at Arms
1895-96 by Charles G Thomas (London 1896)
Some interesting points including the Uitlander complaints and the arming of the miners to welcome Jameson and to protect the civil population. One example given was the raising of an Australian "Brigade". Some 68-70 men, horsed and armed with rifles are shown outside the Robinson Mine. A similar view is shown on a ZUID-AFRIK. REPUBLIEK BRIEFKAART commemorating The late Crisis In Johannesburg.
