For completeness, just now I looked up the medal roll for the IHC and CA's entry. WO100/249 page 2. You will note his enlistment date in the IHC as being 20/5/01.

Interesting: Now why or how did he get from the IY to the IHC? Was he transferred because of his wound? Did he reason that people could get hurt out on the Veldt and there was an opening at the IHC. I guess one could speculate or guess over a dram of single malt well into the evening. Well, I'll just have a glass and raise a toast to "Charlie". He lies in the Veterans cemetery here in Vancouver, I guess I'll go and have a talk with him when the weather gets a little nicer.
