I am trying to compile a list of soldiers who served in the Boer war from this town any help or pointers would be great thanks

I think the obvious place to start would be in Leinster and Thomastown itself, a brief visit should should give you a rough idea and an all important list to begin with, from memory, there was a Victoria Cross awarded to a gentleman from Thomastown, although, outside the scope of this particular forum.
