Hi all, I'm trying to find out which regiment my great grandfather belonged to in South Africa. I have found two records for Joseph Parker as follows:

Name: Joseph Parker
Campaign or Service: South Africa - Second Boer War
Regiment or Unit: 2nd Battalion The Queens
Regimental Number: 6283

Name: Joseph Parker
Campaigne or Service: South Africa - Second Boer War
Regiment or Unit: 84th Battery Royal Field Artillery
Regimental Number: 43554


I don't know if it is possible, but could anyone find out if an of these men were born in South Wales. I apprieciate your time and help onthis subject. Regards

Had a look this morning but couldn't come up with anything. I see you've cast your net very far and wide in your search. For the 2nd Battalion, The Queens West Surrey man, perhaps contact the museum of the Queen's Royal Surrey Regiment and ask if they have anything on Joseph Parker:
