If anyone is looking for further info on Gordon Highlanders I recently discovered my great, great, great grandfathers diary from his time in the Boar War. His name was Sgt. Richard Small #3484 he has captured in great detail day to day life in the field and some if the battles. He also mentions those who were killed who were injured.

A great discovery ! Keep those diary posts coming !

Hello, I cannot help you but perhaps you can assist me. My database of all known British personnel that died during the Boer War has a couple of missing dates for the Gordon Highlanders. Please will you look in your diary and see if they are mentioned there? NEVILL died at Kimberley, DAVIES, died in Ladysmith and F BARBER date & place unknown

I have a complete list of all casualties from the 1st and 2nd Battalion of the Gordon Highlanders during the 2nd Anglo Boer War and NONE of the names you have provided are mentioned in either the 1st or 2nd Battalion in either Officers or ORs.
