We are conducting some research of Americans in the Anglo Boer War for the Paul Kruger Country House Museum. Does anyone have any information or images about Americans in the War, particularly on the British side?

I can only think of "A West Pointer with the Boers" book and I have heard of a Father and Two sons who's medals and uniforms were for sale and enlisted from Texas but without going through enlistment documents of I would think the South African and Colonial Units it would be hard to compile a list......

Here is one such. I have a QSA issued to an American who served 16.01.1900 to 31.10.1901 in the Railway Pioneer Regiment. His name, Walter Langan, 24 year old plumber on enlistment. Father was William Langan of 494 Aukland Avenue, Chicago. 4 shillings a day was stopped from his pay and sent monthly to George William Platt 57A Plein St. C.T.. His medal was issued to 2210 West Huron Street, Chicago, USA
