As reported in The Globe newspaper of Toronto, on Wednesday February 21st 1900.

MANITOBA AND BRITISH COLUMBIA MEN.

Killed:- Scott, Maundell, Jackson, Summers, Todd. - 5.
Wounded:- Arnold, Beach, Neibergall, Smiles, C. Thomson, McKenzie, Capt. H.M. Arnold, of Winnipeg. - 7.
Total for Manitoba and B.C. - 12.

LONDON, ONTARIO MEN.

Killed:- Donegan, R. Smith, W. White. - 3.
Wounded:- Mason, Threeves, Sippi, Power, J. Smith, Torentelle, Paddon, Brough, Green, McLaren, Cosley, Day, Wheatcra (?), Kingsmill. - 14.
Missing:- Adams, Burns. - 2.
Died at Orange River:- Moore. - 1.
Total for London, Ont. - 19.

TORONTO MEN.

Killed:- Findlay, Mason. - 2.
Wounded:- Stewart, Usser (Usher?), Kennedy, Sutton, McGivern, Ward, Vanderwater, McLaughlin, Lieut. J. C. Mason. - 9.
Total Toronto. - 11.

OTTAWA MEN.

Killed:- Lewis, Jackson, O'Brien. - 3.
Wounded:- Thompson, Clark, Laird, Bradshaw, Coleman, Gibson, Ritchie. - 8.
Total Ottawa. - 11.

MONTREAL MEN.

Killed:- Goodfellow, Lester, Paine, McQueen. - 4.
Wounded:- Moore, Gorman, P. Thompson, McIver, A. Shaw, Turner, Roberts, McGill. - 8.
Total Montreal. - 12.

NEW BRUNSWICK and PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND MEN.

Killed:- Taylor, McCreary. - 2.
Wounded:- Hunter, Scott, Lane, Haydon, McLaughlin, Waye, Giffond (Gifford?), J. J. Johnson. - 8.
Total N.B. and P.E.Island. - 10.

Taylor was Roland Dennis Taylor, of Charlottetown, P.E.I.
Waye was from Hunter River, Lane from Rocky Point, both P.E.I.


HALIFAX MEN.

Wounded:- Regan, Adams, B. McCallum, Robertson. - 4.
Total Halifax. - 4.

CANADIANS CAPTURED.

The following sick were captured at Watervaal Drift:-
Cobbold, London; Wood, Ottawa; Wain, Ottawa; Podmore, Quebec; D'Orsennes, Halifax; Walsh, Drake.
Total captured.- 7.

Grand total of Canadian losses- Killed, 19; wounded, 58; missing, 1; captured, 7; died 1.

These names were Killed / Wounded etc., at least the ones I did a quick check on were at Paardeburg......

Maybe the Globe got it wrong......

I am sure that you have this......

The casualty list originated in The Globe but I saw it in the Charlottetown Morning Guardian. "The Globe issued a special this morning announcing the following casualties in the fight at Modder River on Sunday." So it could have been either newspaper which got the battle wrong.

Have changed the topic title, thanks very much for the correction.
