Hi
I am researching a soldier who I believe might be wrongly recorded on a grave at Middleburg cemetery South Africa

I have a medal to Thomas Edwards 4302 2nd Shropshire L.I., who according to ancestry died on the 19 October 1902 at Middleburg which also states an alias as Pizey or Pigey ?
I contacted the South African War memorial site and was sent a photograph of the grave of a soldier as follows

Pte T. Edwards 4302 2 K.O.S.B., died 7 July 1902 buried at Middleburg

Further research on F.M.P., and Ancestry have drawn a blank, the Shropshire Medal Roll for South African War does show a T. Edwards 4302 as died in South Africa, and the War memorial located at St. Chad's church only shows an H. Edwards as died in South Africa after the war.
I cannot trace any soldier serving with the 2 K.O.S.B., as dying in the Boer War or even serving at that time
Any thoughts or help with this research wold be very much appreciated
PHILIP
