Indeed, but, I still find this sort of thing absolutely appalling, it is not just a complete and utter lack of respect, it is desecration on a truly shocking scale, I ended up having to be the unfortunate individual to tell two families that their great grandfathers no longer have marked graves a few years ago and they were as appalled as I was.

Many thanks to everyone who replied. I found my man's name in one of the photos that was linked. Sorry to hear that some graves have been desecrated.
